Jim CarreyStan Lee has been an exceptionally popular guy since Comic-Con a few weeks ago — or so his many photo-posts would have us believe. Most recently, it seems he's been buddying up with Jim Carrey.

"Captain America: The First Avenger" is still making friends too. Paul Cornell, I think, hit the nail on the head with his assessment of how the film represented World War II in the Marvel Universe. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 11, 2011.

@Paul_Cornell Saw Captain America: best Marvel film, beautiful myth, respects the real WW2 by distancing *and* representing...
-Paul Cornell, Writer ("Action Comics," "Knight and Squire")

@marksable The big question hanging over Captain America is whether he loses his virginity before he gets frozen in the ice.
-Mark Sable, Writer ("Two-Face: Year One," "Fearless")

@thatpetewoods I wonder if it would improve sales if I drew all my comics naked
-Pete Woods, Artist ("Action Comics," "Amazons Attack!")

@TheRealStanLee Meet a great guy, my new pal @jimcarrey , one of the cleverest, most versatile actors of all. Maybe he'??ll do a cam... http://say.ly/zySA4v
-Stan Lee, Writer ("Amazing Spider-Man," "Fantastic Four")

@MPBenson Watching Breaking Bad season 3 in one sitting. I haven’t enjoyed a series this much since The Sopranos. Easily the best show on TV.
-Mike Benson, Writer ("Moon Knight," "Deadpool: Suicide Kings")

@RagsMorales Been offered a contract extension for the following year. So it looks like Superman and I will be hangin' for awhile.
-Rags Morales, Artist ("Identity Crisis," "Wonder Woman")

@BrianReed Other facts I have taught my boys about TV: Teletubbies were a twisted genetic experiment, & Oscar the Grouch is a Time Lord (w/ a TARDIS!)
-Brian Reed, Writer ("Ms. Marvel," "Secret Invasion: Front Line")

@beckycloonan @brianwood when we are old and they put us in a home, let's make robotech fan comics to pass the time.
-Becky Cloonan, Writer/Artist ("East Coast Rising," "American Virgin")
